In just 2 hours the 1937 Coal hopper fell to the demolition hammer. The
appalling state of the bunker was obvious in the speed and little
amount of effort needed to demolish the structure, it was in a really
bad state. Protection was arranged for the Victorian retaining wall at
the rear and the surviving ironwork was all removed intact.BW allowed a
limited number of spectators to view the proceedings and the event was
recorded by Birmingham Archeology. Sad to see, but necessary, let this
