Sleck Hillock Wharf

Those interested in BCN affairs might struggle to connect the name "Sleck
Hillock Wharf" with the local canals. But those who care to look at the
early history of the Dudley Canal No 2 might find the connection. This wharf
features in early canal adverts that mention trade along the No 2 Canal to
Selly Oak.

It lies on the north side of Gorsty Hill Tunnel and just north of the
railway bridge. The House on this Wharf was for many years a Public House.
This building has now been demolished robbing Old Hill of what was a good
"real ale" establishment. The bridge over the canal to the Old Wharf still
remains from Station Road Old Hill.

Another piece of canal side heritage has disapeared with the demolition of
the building.
