The Lock House at Deykin Avenue (lock 11 on the Perry Barr flight) has
recently been sold.... twice. Firstly in March this year and then
Thursday 19th June! I spoke to the chap who has now bought the property
and he intends to do it up as it should be done. This sounds
promising ... we can only wait and hope. Unfortunately during the time
it has been empty the lead has been stripped from the roof leaving just
the wooden supports. Water has got into the property, but otherwise it
doesn't seem to have suffered in any external visual way. The owner
acknowledged grade 2 listing and was aware of the needs of the
property. We'll keep an eye on it. See attached photos.
