Boat Inn Coseley being demolished - other losses too   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #335 of 613 |
The group photo shows NB "Progress" with Chris Coburn passing the boat
Inn this Saturday. Demolition has started so if you want to see it, be
quick! Also now lost, is the sand loading wharf / Old end colliery
wharf adjacent to the walbrook bridge just south of Coseley tunnel,
another indicator of the past wiped out. Howver be quick, on the
Bradley arm there is still the boat dock of the former coal merchant
David Baker, prime for re development the site still contains building
built from old joey boat sides, once common, but now this site may
well be the last example in situ. The heritage of the BCN is fading
fast, soon there will be only major structures left on the system,
best get out now and record all that is still left indicating the
importance of this complex trading system.
