Valencia Wharf

Hi All
Since I posted the information regarding the possible filling in of
Valencia Wharf by the owners, Joseph Holloway Ltd. I am pleased with
the response from interested bodies.

The following was sent to me by BW today:-
"As you are probably aware unfortunately BW does not own Valencia
Wharf. Given this situation the only action BW can take with regards
to the infilling by a third party of a private basin is to raise the
issue with the local planning authority who in this instance is
Sandwell MBC. This we did yesterday afternoon. Following contact
with one of their Senior Planners it would appear that although they
have planning consent for an extension to the main building (granted
in the last 14 days), the application did not include for the
infilling of the basin. Our understanding is that infilling a basin
would require planning consent, and therefore, undertaking such an
activity without consent would be a breech of Planning Control. In
this regard we have expressed our concerns to the LPA and they are
fully aware of the situation."

It puts us in the picture but if as many of you would write to Joseph
Holloway and Sandwell Council as Laurence suggests all the better.
As Laurence says BW are supportive of this, they've done their bit,
but these problems are assisted by the masses not just by one or even
by one Society so get your fingers tapping!!
