Today (26th October) David Suchet visited LIchfield to boost the
appeal being run in his name to further the progress of the Lichfield
canal. His uncomplicated direct support was shown in various ways,
including a phoned in interview with top radio presenter Ed Doolan of
BBC WM. Despite the gloom of the DEFRA/BW problems it was good to see
BW in attendance still unswerved from their intention or working with
the LHCRT to help achieve reconnection of the BCN Northern waters to
the Coventry and Staffs Worcs Canals. Tony Harvey and his team have
helped to a great degree in furthering the commencement of the first
part of the diverted line of this canal, a canal which once completed
is deemed to revitalize the whole underused Northern 30 miles of the
BCN. No other project will help the BCN regain the lost traffic to its
waters and bring newcomers to the heart of our industrial waterways.
