Lichfield Canal

The restoration of the Lichfield Canal, is as far as I am concerned, is
imperative as it will open up a link to what are now waterways relegated to
backwaters.

Under the current financial climate coupled with the DEFRA gross mismagement
of their affairs puts the continued use of canal such as the Walsall, Wyrley
& Essington, Rushall and Tame Valley under threat as maintenance is
curtailed.

The Lichfield Canal also retains a number of heritage features such as
canalside cottages and the high embankment near Muckley Corner
