Hiya,

I know of 3 although not really Bristol /Bath

Cheddar market - in cheddar at the indoor karting rink

Frome Market - At Standerwick just outside of Frome, this one tends to always be big, is outside when its dry and under cover in the cattle market when wet. Very expensive to sell here though.

There is another one that is inside a buidling next to a garden centre but for the life of me I cant remember the name of the town (begins with C !), but it tends to be rubbish anyway, last time ther were only about 3 ort 4 sellers. I think because you cant take cars anyweher near where you set up so have to lump all your stuff.

If you would consider an outdoor bootsale then the one in Semington (Semington showground) that is all year round (when its dry) is massive now that the others in the area have closed for the year.

You beat me to it I was planning to add this one today :)
We went on the 2nd week that this was open and there were only 3 or 4 sellers there but I think It will pick up now that Southwick has finished for the year, a lot of the traders fro Southwick have said they will be going to Westbury.

Entry for buyers is free but you can make a donation (i think its for charity?). Ive been told it will be on all year round on both Saturdays and Sundays.

Hi All,
There is now a Sunday Morning Carboot on the Trading Estate, Westbury Wilts,
This is a new Venue & has only been running a few weeks,
It is signposted with directions from most approaches,
Traders on hardstanding & good car parking,

I have only attended as a buyer!
So I don't know the contact details or the trading hours but think it finishes 12 o'clock,

As this is a new venue,I hope they will make it permanent,
But to continue they will need buyers & sellers support,

Best Wishes,
Pam

I'm sorry too that I had to charge for you to see all the information about car boots on www.carbootsRus.com. Initially, finding information about car boot sales was a labour of love. Now, there is so much information, I can spend several hours collecting and collating it all and enhancing the facilities on the site - eg the map / postcode details.

There was only a small, very small, income from people clicking through and buying through the adverts.

I, therefore, made the decision to either stop running it or to make a minimal charge for visitors to view all the information. The cost of two or three pints (a year). If my website saves you one hour a year, it's paid for itself. I will even search for details for you!:)

In addition, I usually post information here about your local car boots eg Trench Lane and Keynsham. You don't have to visit www.carbootsRus.com but it does have extra stuff like links to maps and contact details, so, obviously, I hope you will.

Hi all.

It's a pity that this website has chosen to make it a pay-to-see website as this was always a great resource for finding out where car boot sales were taking place.

I will once again try to check the local press for information or look on other websites for the details and post them here as I have done in the past for the Bristol and local areas.

Hi, anyone on Wiltshire/Somerset near Trowbridge will be glad to hear that the
Ashton Common boot sale just outside of Trowbridge has now started.

This car boot is pretty unique as its free to set up and sell (they come round
with a bucket and you can choose to donate to their chosen charity if you wish -
I believe it is for Cancer Research)

They charge buyers for entry I think it was 25p per person last year.

It was a brillinat boot sale last year but unfortunatly wasnt on much due to the
weather as although they have a big field it gets very boggy after lots of rain
and takes quite a while to dry out, after a while they did manage to find
another field for it but by then the season was almost over.

This was on last Sunday (14/06/2009) and should be on this Sunday (21/06/2009) .

I went as a seller for the first time last week. Arriving at 7am is a good time as it's just starting to fill up with the odd buyer here and there.

I was bombarded with questions very early on when setting up my stall, asking if we had jewellery, power tools, perfume, designer sunglasses and lego! If you are selling these items I would tell these people "No" and wait til things get busy later on as you are more likely to get better offers from someone else!

Hi

This car boot was on last Sunday 3 May so I think it will be on every Sunday
now. We drove past at around 9.30am and it was in full swing with a good crowd.
Looked like there were a lot of sellers there as well as buyers.
