Hi Jane,
It seems to me that people need to hear about the car club
repeadedly. The best way of getting the message out there for me has
been through the council's newsletter. May be worth trying the local
council's press team?
Also, giving an incentive to existing members to refer friends and
family sometimes brings a couple of extra members in.
Hope this helps, but would love to hear what has worked for others!
Paul

Hello,
Jane here - Ive been working for Carplus for a few years and have
recently been working on the Commonwheels launch.
The latest update is that we were officially launched by the mayor of
Reading on the 31st May (if you want to draw a crowd - offer free
cake!) and signed up our first member on the day. There was lots of
interest, we had chosen to do the launch as part of a bigger
environmentally focused local event. And in the first week we are up
to 10 members, clearly these are early adopters and most were members
of the club which folded earlier this year.
I think the next hurdle is going to be marketing to the second wave of
people and converting them into members. We have plans for local
flyering and some press work. Does anyone have any advice on what else
works?
Thanks, Jane
Just a quick hello. I'm Paul Balmont and I run Option C car club in
the North East. We are a Community Interest Company and have been
operating for over a year in Durham.
Looking forward to some good discussion with people who have a like-
minded approach to car clubs!
