OPENING THIS WEEK

Madea Goes to Jail
 Trailer

want to see
In Tyler Perry's latest release, America's favorite foul-mouthed, gun-totin' matriarch finds herself in the slammer following a high speed chase. Opposite the troublesome Madea stars Derek Luke as Joshua Hardaway, a married DA who's confronted with tough choices when assigned to prosecute an incarcerated young lady under Madea's protection.
Fired Up
 Trailer

28%

want to see
Nick (Eric Christian Olsen) and Shawn (Nicholas D'Agosto) are two popular high school football stars. Instead of heading off to football camp, they decide a cheerleading camp makes more sense. They join their school's notoriously deficient cheerleading team, garner spots, and head off to cheerleading camp, which turns out to be the headquarters for some of America's friskiest ladies.
In the Electric Mist
 Trailer

27%

want to see
Tommy Lee Jones just loves playing the sheriff. In Bertrand Tavernier's adaptation of the James Lee Burke novel "In the Electric Mist with Confederate Dead," he stars as a contemplative, alcoholic, and violent lawman who's investigating several brutal murders in Louisiana. Things get weirder when his former classmate, played by John Goodman, comes back to town to make a movie.

TOP BOX OFFICE

Friday the 13th
 Trailer

61%

liked it
Friday the 13th, a great Valentine's Day date, was #1 in what's shaping up as not only the busiest President's Day weekend ever, but the biggest February weekend on record. Earning an estimated $42.2M, the gorefest skewered its franchise predecessors by attracting one and a half times the opening attendance as any other film in the series.
He's Just Not That Into You
 Trailer

73%

liked it
Even though America is still into it, this romantic comedy slipped to second place this weekend with roughly $23.4M for a total of $58.8 million in eleven days.
Taken
 Trailer

84%

liked it
Liam Neeson keeps killing it. Taken dropped into third place at the box office but still made an estimated $22.2M over the weekend. It has garnered $80.5M since the end of January.

FEATURED PREVIEW

Opening Mar 6, 2009
Directed By Zack Snyder
Alan Moore's Watchmen is widely regarded as the best graphic novel ever written. On March 6th, we'll see if Director Zach Snyder can repeat the great things he did with 300. Looks like he will because the buzz and source material for this one are exponentially greater. It may not capture the cultural zeitgeist the way the graphic novel did, but if it's even half as good, it will hit big enough to make a dent in the genre.

Flixster Voices

DerekA101

DerekA101 on Friday the 13th

Michael Bay returns to rebooting another slasher flick. Although I enjoyed what he did with Texas Chainsaw Massacre, I think what he did here with Friday the 13th was mediocre at best.
Julie

Julie on He's Just Not That Into You

This was cuter than expected. Helps to see it with Enrique, who claims he has been all of the women in this movie. You should take him with you when you see it, too.
Godless

Godless on Taken

This movie hunted me down, found me, and then tried to kill me.

limoradalloway on Confessions of a Shopaholic

Cutesy, light, idealistic, unrealistic.

Supposedly (so says McTeigue), the Wachowskis have been approached about Superman and are "currently reviewing their options." McTeigue, who was supposed to aid the brothers in the second unit department on Plastic Man, says that if they do take on Superman, he'd most likely serve in the same capacity on that flick. More
Drew Barrymore has confessed that her favourite screen kiss was with Adam Sandler. Speaking to People, the actress admitted that she has a soft spot for Sandler, who she first starred opposite in 1998's The Wedding Singer. More
For those wondering why Christopher Nolan still hasn't announced anything about Batman 3, here's your answer: It's not his next movie. Variety reports that Warner Bros. has bought a script called "Inception", written by Chris Nolan. That, not a sequel to The Dark Knight will be his next directing gig. More
