Horror veterans Wes Craven and Sean Cunningham are releasing a brand new version of their landmark film that launched Craven's directing career and influenced decades of horror pictures: The Last House on the Left. Bringing one of the most notorious thrillers of all time to a new generation, the story explores how far two ordinary people will go to exact revenge on the sociopaths who harmed their daughter.
Disney remakes their beloved kid-friendly adventure, Witch Mountain, which originally debuted in 1975. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson stars as a cabbie who gets more than he bargained for when he picks up two teenage runaways (Anna Sophia Robb and Alexander Ludwig). Not only does he learn that they possess supernatural powers, he also finds out that they're on the run from creepy villains who are determined to harness their powers for all the wrong reasons.
In Miss March, the protagonist (Zach Cregger) awakens from a four-year coma to learn that his once-virginal high school sweetheart (Raquel Alessi) has become a Playboy centerfold. He and his sex-crazed best friend (Trevor Moore) embark on a cross-country road trip where the final destination is Hef's mansion. Their mission? Win back the girl!
Watchmen opened with $55.7 million ticket sales to extend Hollywood's record box office sales for a fifth weekend of year-over-year total box office increases. The dark superhero film, based on the 1986 graphic novel by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons sold out 124 midnight showings at IMAX theaters launching it into this weekend's number one spot.
Tyler Perry's newest Madea installment took the second spot this weekend earning $8.5 million. So far this year, it's the fourth most popular film, raking in a hefty $76.5 million.
Taken is showing staying power, this weekend moving up one spot to third. Its sixth week in theaters added $7.3 million to its total take of $117.9 million.
Hugh Jackman reprises the role that made him a superstar. In May, he'll be back on the silver screen as the fierce fighting machine with amazing healing powers, retractable claws and a primal fury. Leading up to the events of X-Men, X-Men Origins: Wolverine tells the story of Wolverine's epically violent and romantic past, his complex relationship with Victor Creed, and the ominous Weapon X program. Along the way, Wolverine encounters many mutants, both familiar and new, including surprise appearances by several legends of the X-Men universe whose appearances in the film series have long been anticipated.
The anticipation is over... went to see it and was intensely blown away with this 2 and half hour historic super hero pop "opera". It is an intense fantastic graphic story of heroes trying to save the world from nuclear oblivion.
Madea tells it like it is! She, Tyler Perry of course, is the best. So many funny one-liners. And kudos to little 'Rudy Huxtable,' Keisha did a good job but bring on Madea!
I never thought Liam Neeson would be able to destroy Chuck Norris... this movie proved me wrong. He can beat Chuck Norris blindfolded and with his hands tied behind his back.
