It's 2018 and John Connor (Bale) is leading the human resistance against Skynet's cyborg army. When an out-of-time stranger, Marcus Wright (Worthington), appears, Connor must determine whether he's been sent from the future or rescued from the past. As Skynet prepares its final onslaught, Connor and Marcus must infiltrate Skynet and uncover the terrible plan to end mankind.
When Larry (Stiller) becomes caretaker at the Smithsonian (the world's largest museum complex), he's faced with the curse of the evil Pharaoh Kahmunrah whose curse brings the exhibits to life. Historical and fictional figures from the past begin to battle, and, with the help of Amelia Earhart (Adams), Larry must try to keep everything together.
The comedically prolific Wayans family, who brought you "Scary Movie" and "White Chicks," are running back their spoof game with "Dance Flick." In this tale, two drastically different protagonists - Thomas Uncles (Damon Wayans, Jr.) and a beautiful Megan White (Shoshana Bush) - are brought together by their passion for dancing and are put to the test in an epic dance battle.
"Angels Demons" the sequel to the 2006 mega-hit "The Da Vinci Code," starring Tom Hanks as Robert Langdon, took the top spot this week. The flick generated $46.2 million on its opening weekend despite tepid reviews.
The positively-reviewed newest installment of the "Star Trek" franchise dropped to second place. Its $43 million take was impressive, though, bringing its U.S. total in two weeks to $147.6 million.
"Up" is Disney's forthcoming comedy adventure about 78-year-old balloon salesman Carl Fredricksen (Asner), who fulfills his lifelong dream to see the wilds of South America by tying thousands of balloons to his house and flying away. But he discovers all too late that his biggest nightmare has stowed away on the trip: an overly-optimistic 8-year-old Wilderness Explorer named Russell. Together, the unlikely pair must negotiate some a variety of shenanigans on their journey into a lost world.
Fundamentally faithful to the book, but I was surprised by how much they changed. Nevertheless, it was a fun, thrilling escape, and better than its predecessor...
An utterly exhilarating and adrenaline-pumping edge of your seat action-packed extravaganza. It cuts through the origins of the character nicely in a well-crafted and superbly performed film.
