1ST SEPTEMBER 2004
With two important events coming up and the campaign moving on i'm
scheduling a meeting for Wednesday 1st September at the Old Mill in
Berkhamsted.

The topics for discussion are:

1.0 FIVE GOALS FOR A FAIRTRADE TOWN (REVIEWED)
We need to go back over some old ground otherwise we'll forget what we
came for.
Suggestions on approaches.

2.0 FAIRTRADE SUPPER
We'll need to put together a choice of dishes. There are plenty of
fairtrade recipes so lets put our heads together and choose some that
will cater for a broad range of tastes.  We'll also have to then test
some of the recipe's, this means cooking them first and having a
taste. Idea's on vegetarian options and so forth.

Invitation lists and teams.

2.1 QUIZ QUESTIONS.
This'll be fun the quiz topics are to be on global culture and
environment, that includes fairtrade. Would like to form a quiz
committee. Everybody come up with ten good questions. But first we
need to break it down into a plan of the whole thing.

3.0 FAIRTRADE TOWN CONFERENCE
An invite list for the fairtrade town launch.

4.0 NEW EVENTS
Christmas ~ Valenties ~ Fairtrade Fortnight
and what we're gonna do about it. (groan) i know we don't want to
think of it but planning a fairtrade event for it has to happen now.

all share in writing to the organisations.

4.0 PUBLICITY
I have an idea for a Christmas radio commercial and could do with some
help writing it. Does anybody in the group have minidisk? Radio
Verulam has offered to air the commercial for us for free. This might
also provide a superb opportunity to liaise with schools by getting
them to join a competition to come up with the best commercial.

5.0 TARGETING RETAIL OUTLETS
Blockbuster video. This store is full of chocolate and other stuff,
but no fairtrade chocolate. As comic relief is coming up next year i
think we can persuade them to get involved. Or for christmas actually.

6.0 FINANCE
Up to now we've managed without a bank account as we've gone through
our respective campaigning organizations. But we're going to need one
now. And someone to be treasurer. Nobody has to remortgage their house
to be a signatory.
