We had a full house at the civic centre on Monday night. It was a very
successful evening and everybody seemed to enjoy themselves. Oxfam
foods took a respectable £140 in sales while Colin Smith provided top
class fairtrade coffee to the assembled guests. Who's going to say now
that fairtrade coffee isn't quality? ask anybody that was there that
night.
A lot of support was expressed for the campaign and the call has gone
out to the borough to link up the towns in a collective bid for
fairtrade status.
There is already a shopping directory which i shall be having printed
up and distrubuted, however, it needs updating and we shall request of
the members their local assistance in indentifying any retail branches
we've missed in the neighbouring towns.
FAIRTRADE SUPPER/QUIZ
We still have places to fill 'em up so come on all you individuals
that love a good feast, anybody that would appreciate a three course
fairtrade/ organic supper quiz for a mere £8.00 this coming saturday
23rd october at st mary's church hall hemel hempstead old high street,
please come along either as invididuals or as small groups. Even
though it's not going to be as big an event as we originally planned,
we do make the promise that it will be a lovely evening becuase we put
a lot of work into it.
At the end of it all, you can rate us on marks out of ten although i
reserve the right to insist that you can only score a minimum of five
out of ten so that at least we can have the accolade of saying it was
'just alright on the night' if not brilliant. har har!
