DailySouthAsian provides an independent platform for information exchange in english and hindi languages on a mosaic of development issues engaging people of South Asia, and around the world who are keen on monitoring development in this region.

Initially this eGroup was formed to chronicle the discussions before and during India Pakistan Peace March - a people's initiative which began on March 23, 2005 from New Delhi and ended in Multan on May 11, 2005.

DailySouthAsian also comes up with regular features like FRIDAY SPOTLIGHT to highlight an unsung hero/heroine working on social justice and equality (or such issues), IN-FOCUS to focus on an issue, MONITOR to report on violations of existing legislations and public-interest rulings, and periodic columns by people like Magsaysay awardee Dr Sandeep Pandey and other noted human rights activists.

It maintains a permanent online archive of discourses on key development priorities in the region.
