This group is open for enquiries and discussion surrounding not just 1198, but other future plans the EMU Preservation Society may consider.
If you can help, please join up.
We have opened the new membership campaign for 2009 and need lots of new members to join in and help keep 1198 in tip-top working order.
Simply by subscribing to our Society means that another small but vital component can be purchased to maintain our train. We produce a regular colour magazine and have a dedicated site for emails and discussion.
1198 is currently at the Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway in South Wales, and has been used regularly throughout 2008 and is planned to also run in 2009 with the main service starting with the opening of Blaenavon High Level in 2010.
Our membership secretary can send you the necessary application forms:

The Photo is from last year's Southern With Altitude Gala; note how the fresh paintwork reflects the loco and platform edging, note also the CIG, a former Fratton stablemate of 1198, now also at the PBR!
Another way to help us while you save money is to join up to Utility Warehouse. This is a great way of reducing your bills on phone and other utilities as well as giving 5% commission on all UW bills payments to EMUPS.
Anyone joining up with Utility Warehouse will generate long term funds for EMUPS while saving on their bills.
Ring 0800 1313000 for details and quote EMUPS reference - B36820 - already set up to channel money to EMUPS
