This list is of recent preservations of slamdoor EMUs within the past few years, and those planned.

class 302
two DTs have been saved, and work back-to-back with a loco at Mangapps, near Burnham on Crouch, Essex

class 308
a DT has been saved and is being restored at the Pump House, Walthamstow. This location is currently only open to volunteers, not the public.

class 309
The one most people want to see saved, two departmentals still exist at Shoeburyness, and ACEMU is chasing things up.

class 411 / 412
Complete units: (this ignores any rumours, only those listed below are definite)
2325, saved, at East Kent Rly, Shepherds Well, Kent
1198, saved, at Dartmoor Rly, Meldon (This area is part of a working quarry and not open to the general public - the unit will hopefully enter service soon)
2311, to be saved, and go to the Eden Valley Rly, based at Warcop, but running soon to Appleby. This unit may be painted in 'Jaffa Cake' livery
2315, to be saved,and also go to the Eden Valley Rly.

1512 is OWNED by SWT, it may be worth an approach once 1499 gets demoted to Bournemouth depot shunter, the position 1512 currently holds.

Parts of units:
1393's TS, originally in 1589, will apparently be saved soon, along with the rest of the unit (see class 421)
This means that 1589 is preserved although the DMSOs are at Meldon, the TBC is at Snibston discovery Pk, Leics, and the TS is in 1393.

class 421
1753, saved, mothballed at an airfield in Suffolk.
1393, to be saved, by whom not known at this time.

PLUS two 3 CIGs have been created to operate a 'heritage service' on the Lymington branch, by SWT

PLUS an unknown at this time 'phase 2' to be saved by Southern TOC, replacing 1705 which is to be scrapped..

class 423
Complete Units:
3810, to be saved, by whom not known at this time. (this one went to Germany)

Parts of units:
A DT has been saved and is at the Bideford and Instow Rly

Any further info gratefully received.

Regards
Albert
