Cross posting? Tut tut ;-)

Actually my blackberry can't see or open the forwarded message John.

I don't know if this is a fault with this gizmo or not.

I had a purge of my groups a few months ago (well, over 25 groups was getting a bit ridiculous) and 'mueg' was one of the ones I dropped.

I am banging this out on the train home from Newport; it's been an interesting two days with a train to Exeter, bus to Okey, lorry ride to Blaenavon, lift to Newport and train back home, with a total cost of £10 thanks to the two lifts and the Firstgroup Friends and Family £5 per person FGW rovers valid anywhere on FGW for a day!

As for the move of batteries, about half have now been moved (along with the nine windows) and we are waiting for Dartmoor to locate the rest, which had been moved for some reason or other.

So we will be back at Dartmoor again anyway. Other things of EMU interest at Meldon is:-

The CEP TSO 70508 that was in 1399 and was left behind when the other three coaches went to PBR, is receiving a sand down and primer and is planned to work with 61743 when work is complete.

The BIG buffet car that was in Okey platform (I always muddle their numbers up) has a CEP window fitted and is now back in the sidings at Meldon. The other one, static overlooking the Viaduct, is receiving an overhaul and should be ready for the Summer Season, if not before.

So all in all, things look good, and I am somewhat tired from humping windows and batteries about. Chris is asleep on the train right now. (No I am not going to attach a photo! :-)

Thanks, therefore, to our Membership Secretary Chris Newbury for his assistance without which I would still be humping items about in Blaenavon, and also of course to John Down for organising the lorry, and to Smithy for the lift to Newport.

Kind Regards to all

Albert
