Ged,
Oh yeah, sorry, I got the dates mixed up (ok, I can't read).
I'm not sure what the outcome on Dunstable is yet, so if you can sort something out for Cranwell then that would be brilliant.
Paul.
PS. Yes, we all want Mel's cookies, haha.

I believe was useful for the Dunstable team as they could just leave the
gliders at Saltby and come back the following weekend to take them over to
Cranwell. I wasn't at Cranwell as I was away, so not sure what actually
happened. This may also be useful for the Gransden team too.
Anyway, this year the comps are 2 weeks apart (given current dates) as the
weekend in the middle has a non I/C comp at Saltby so we can't compete in
the I/C that weekend. Mel mentioned today that being able to leave gliders
behind and come back for the next round would be good, but there will be a 2
week gap. However, I have a solution (possibly).
The non I/C comp on the 2nd May Bank Holiday is a fun friendly do between us
and a neighbouring club (Trent Valley - Kirton in Lindsey) which we do in 2
parts (1 at each club). This first round is at Saltby. However, it's open to
any pilot from any club and we certainly had one or two other pilots (Adrian
included) join us last year. Might I suggest that anyone wishing to leave
gliders behind at Saltby after our I/C would be more than welcome to join in
for 3 days over the bank holiday, leave them behind again and then come to
Cranwell the weekend after that.
There is a £10 entry fee for this comp, £5 of which goes towards a BBQ. I
appreciate it ups the travelling for some, but it's a fun do. The comp is
not run on a formal basis, in fact although tasks are set you can choose
whichever task you want, and also launch whenever you want so there's no
actual launch grid and start time etc.
Paul
