Hi Guys,
The Wittering round of ICL will be upon us soon and the Station has
issued an Op Order for the competition over the weekend. As this
makes it sound like Operation Market Garden I have tried to
translate this into civilianese!
The main points are.
1. Can the team Captains try and let me know by email
a. Who is coming
b. Vehicle make model and reg if possible
This way we can have passes all ready for you when you arrive. It's
no big deal if other cars and people turn up we can get them
registered it's just that there is usually only one person in the
guardroom that can do this at a weekend and it make take time if 10
of you all turn up together
REMEMBER TO BRING PHOTO ID- Passport or Driving license (Gilder
pilots' license will do at a pinch)
2. I am supposed to remind you that you should have crown
indemnity insurance, but this is standard with most policies. No-one
will be checking….. Unless you hit a Harrier or the station
commanders car!!!!
3. Since last year there has been a problem with FOD so on the
drive round to the hanger you will see a blue box on the road where
you are supposed to stop and get out and walk round the vehicle and
check for FOD…. Notts Uni please not we have got a special
dispensation for the Skylark as it would not fit in a FOD bin!
Hope this isn't too onerous, there is camping area with (hopefully)
mains power behind the club house near to the loos and showers this
is officially designated Stalag Luft IX and you will need to organize
an escape committee over the weekend.
The rigging are is on the grass to the right of the club hangar and
there are more loos and showers there.
The usual surfeit of food will be available from the bus starting
with breakfasts running through to Lunch and a Hog Roast on Saturday
night
You can pitch up from Friday afternoon onwards and yes there will be
food and yes the bar will be open.
If you need to get hold of any one I am on 07976 472895 or Colin the
CFI is on 07900 682932
