RE: [East_Mids_ICL] 2009 dates
Dear all,
Cranwell are indeed on our rest year and I think that Dunstable are also
on a rest year since we decided at the end of last season to reduce the
number of weekends to 4 from 5.

Hi all, Happy New Year and welcome to Julian.
Bids on the table so far are:
2/3/4 May - Hus Bos
16/17 May - Saltby (subject to me confirming tug availability)
6/7 June - Cambridge (moved to the earlier of the two weeks to try and
avoid back to back ICLs)
20/21 June - Dunstable
Cranwell are on their rest year.
Wittering??
Note that 23/24/25 May is the 5th (I think!) Wood and Glass comp, all welcome
but already get 15+ gliders so hard to mix with ICL.

[East_Mids_ICL] New rep
& dates
Hello Everyone!
A big thanks to Colin for his work on the ICL over the last five years
and giving me an introduction. After last year's success Colin, like George
W Bush, is moving on to new things at the top of his career. I am not sure
exactly who I will be working with on this but I do recognize several of
the names I have seen so far.
I understand the first task of the year is to arrange dates. Traditionally
we at Cambridge have pushed for a weekend in May due to the field situation
later in the season. This year however we are hosting the Vintage Glider
Club rally for the last two weeks of May so would like to have a weekend
in the first half of June, say 13/14th. The weekend beforehand, June 6/7th
and the weekend of May 17/18 would be possible at a pinch but may well
make me rather unpopular at Gransden!
Best regards,
Julian

Just to let you all know that I’ve relinquished the ICL Rep role for Cambridge
and passed on the mantle to Julian Bane.
He comes already ‘battle hardened’ having been running our Single Seater
scheme for a number of years.
Julian has been keeping a watching brief on the ICL Yahoo group and will
no doubt be in contact regarding the dates for the coming year.

Colin Cownden
