This implies that the last weekend is
the standby weekend. The issue is that club would go through the
work to organise event, which might then be cancelled......I can't see
this being acceptable....Ged?

Re: [East_Mids_ICL] 2006
final dates
Hey All,
I was chatting to Adrian last night and made
a suggestion that he thought I ought to put to you all for discussion.
There was some debate about whether 5 weekends
may be too much, but we've currently got 5 clubs offering to host to try
to overcome the horrible weather problems we've had in the last couple
of years (especially 2005).
What I suggested as an option is that if
one of the clubs with the later dates would prefer then they could be listed
as a spare weekend. We'd see how the 1st 2 weekends go and if we've had
some luck with the weather then the team captains could get together and
maybe agree that the spare weekend is not used. However, if after the 1st
2 rounds we've had bad luck then we could agree to use the spare weekend
to try and salvage something.
The issue Adrian highlighted is that some
clubs may struggle to field a full team for 5 whole weekends.
Anyone got any thoughts on this?
Cheers,
Paul

Wow, let's make this as complicated as possible! 5 weekends is good...if
they are ALL competition days....GREAT! If the weather forecast
looks crap, then each team captain can make a decision...but since when
has UK weather forecasting been able to tell us what a sunday will be like
on the friday??
Final dates are:
April
29/30 May 1st (bank hol) Hus Bos
May 20/21
Saltby
June 3/4
Gransden
June 24/25
Dunstable
July 8/9
Cranwell
Paul, get that poster up in the clubroom!
Gentlemen (and women)...start your engines........

RE: [East_Mids_ICL] Cranwell
Weekend
Ged, all,
I think having five weekends is good given the run of poorer weather we
have
had over the last few years.
We can always opt to see how many days we get from the earlier weekends
and
if 'x' days are scored then the last weekend can be used as an informal
get
together rather than a scoring weekend.
Alternatively, (and in my opinion, a bit dodgy this one but putting it
out
for discussion) if on the Friday evening of an ICL weekend the forecast
looks like being a no-hope comp weekend we could have the flexibility of
cancelling at that stage with approval of all captains (deputies) and know
we still have another spare weekend available.
Your thoughts?
Adrian

Subject: [East_Mids_ICL] Cranwell Weekend
Hi all
The RAF have agreed to Cranwell GC hosting an Interclub Weekend on the
9th & 10th July.
This gives us the luxury of 5 weekends this year.
If ecery one is ok with this I will confirm with the RAF, this will
give us the same access to the South A/F as last year.
Normal arrangements required before hand will be list of people
attending and car reg (not just for pilots)
Cheers for now
Ged
