Dear all,

Following the implementation of the rules as decided at the end of the last
season, there has been some revision so that the rules become (hopefully!)
clearer and fairer.

The basic changes are as follows:

1. The rule allowing pundits to fly as an intermediate with a 10% penalty has
been scrapped. This was found to not be a big enough penalty at the Hus Bos
weekend with the Hus Bos "intermediates" beating the "true" intermediates by
over 30kph in one case.

2. The boundaries for the classes have been changed.

Novice - anyone who has not flown a UK 300km
- is allowed to have flown 2 UK Regionals

Intermediate - anyone who has flown a UK 300km
- has competed in more than 2 UK Regionals

Pundit - anyone who has been placed in the top half of a Nationals in the last
10 years
- anyone who has flown a UK 750km

3. There is a period of grace for the 300km flights of 1 year. For example, if
your novice was to fly a 300km this season, they would not move into the
intermediate class until the start of the 2010 season.

I hope this makes sense. It obviously relies upon a measure of honesty from
teams whcih, this being a fun competition, I am sure will happen! Let's see how
it works at Saltby.
