RE: [East_Mids_ICL] Cambridge ICL Round outstanding logger traces

Hi Russell,

As agroup, we went through this a few years ago and came up with......

Traces should be collected by the Club captain and sent on to the scorer, alternatively, pilots should be encouraged to upload traces to the BGA Ladder from where the scorer can download them directly.

Although Flight Analysis programs can download the traces from virtually any source, it was the myriad of cables, that fact that some loggers need power etc. that threw a spanner in the works. Also some pilots who land out don't return to the airfield but go straight to their home base meaning traces have to be sent on in any event.

The above solution also makes it easier for the scorer (something I was always grateful for!) as the final scores can be collated away from the hub bub of the ICL weekend.

Regards,

Colin

This is just an observation but........ as it apparently seems to be onerous on both sides to to tie up these logger traces which it has rightly been decided are needed to prove the performance, wouldn't it be better if the traces are uploaded on the day. SeeYou can download virtually anything and many pilots can produce their own IGC file anyway.
