I was in 1Z through to 5Z along with Gina Clark who I exchanged a few
emails with several years ago....Some other `Z-formers' who I think
stayed on for 6th Form and who you may have known were Deborah Prior,
Eddie Kossovitz (? spelling), Tina Nesbitt, Janet McCarthy and maybe
Terry Clark.
Woops, Sorry folks, I think I re-sent Ian's message by mistake. Gina and I
grew up 'along
the balcony' in the same block of flats. My other neighbour was Gaynor
Bartlett, a couple
of years older than me, also attended Elliott. The girls you mention sound
familiar, but my
memory is not brilliant. Names I remember from the 6th form are: Penny (Clark?)
I think
her father was the radio 4 broadcaster - 'The Food Programme', Christabel
Birkbeck,
Martin Sharp (also lived in the flats until he moved to Richmond, I think it
was), Bryn
(Carter?) Dominic (Harris?), Suzzanne ? Lived in Kingston, Marjorie Clark.
Sadly, I don't
think many people from the Estate made it into the 6th form. It was a good
school - if I
had been at school nowadays, I probably would have been excluded before I
reached the
6th form! When I tell my children we had the options to go Ice Skating, Horse
Riding,
Canoeing etc. and the school taught Russian, Spanish, French and German and
probably
more, they are surprised. Education has a different meaning now, but don't get
me started
on that one!
