You're quite right Geoff, the school you attended opened in 1956 but the
original Elliott School, called, I think, Elliott Central School opened in
1904. It was moved from the original site, now Southfields Community
College, to the new building in 1956.
I knew Jack Kyte and worked with him for a few years but he hasn't been in
contact for many years since his retirement. I worked with Harry Mason for
several years and was fortunate enough to organise his retirement do. I was
in contact with him a year ago when he was fit and well and house sitting
his, I think, daughter's house on the Isle of Wight.
We are concerned about planning a 50th anniversary because we are due to
become a building site in September 2004 when major refurbishments are set
to begin. The programme is likely to last 3 years if, indeed, it goes ahead.
I knew George Hook as well but have had no contact for some years.
