Dear all,
Just a quick welcome note and thankyou to the new, and not so new,
members from the Indian subcontinent.
As I may have indicated previously, I believe that there is a great
deal that we can learn from this part of the world and I'm sure that
in time we will find many more people interested in the interactions
between people and birds.
I know very little about this part of the world but am looking forward
to learning more over the next year or so - so I welcome any tips or
suggestions from members as to how we can further extend our reach
into this wonderful area so rich in landscape, birds, history, culture
and religion.
I see a lot of posts from the nathistory-india@... webgroup
that reveal the rich potential for ethnoronithology and related
studies. I have also made contact with the Bombay natural History
Society - which has a long history and a wonderful website - see:
http://www.bnhs.org/
To Raju, Usha and Prateek and all the other members and prospective
members I wish a firm welcome and I look forward to your continued
participation and reports from both the field and your research.
Cheers, thanks again and best wishes,
Bob Gosford
