Dear All,
I am deeply interested and would appreciate in any information about former distribution, ancient/medieval sources (pictures, bas-reliefs, etc.) of the Bald Ibis (Waldrapp) Geronticus eremita, its utilisation, extirpation, etc.

Of course ornamentation also but not only for that. Firstly there are a lot of historical and religional reports. Today there is a pigeon breeding tradition in turkey and the methots are similar.

Hi,
How can you tell they were for birds rather than just ornamentation?
Best wishes,
Audrey
