Sorry about the repeats, folk - some trans-continental, international research & need for editing ! Hopefully Pierregg and I have got it right at last !
And AGAIN ! Even more today. Hope you enjoy them - click on "New Photos" and "New Files" at the top of the home page to see them all together for 1 week.
Pierregg read through the French article (see files) and we can add to our existing knowledge of Fu'ad that
- Its is indeed his father who is the Moroccan (as we sort of guessed from his surname) and his mother who is the Corsican
- As a teenager, he had an agreement with his father that if he achieved his baccalaureate (high school graduation), he could could try to be an actor for 3 years. Perhaps that is where he may have developed the "good English" the journalist describes (Links > English > Fu'ad speaks > Facing up to acting for real).
- Having achieved it, he moved to Paris. We know he studied at 2 famous acting schools in that time (see Links > Education) and that he lived in a tiny room with no hot water (Links > English > Fu'ad Speaks > Facing up to acting for real)
- He applied for a job in a bar / night club and the owner told him he should try modelling
- He sent out many polaroids and Marilyn Agency was the first to hire him (see Links > Modelling Agencies) We have some polaroid examples in Photos (early). He had some contracts but it was not his first choice of occupation.
- So he decided to give up the acting quest when he was 25, to return home - and of course he was hired for "Une Vieille Maitresse" that very day (confirms previous article: see Links > English > Fu'ad speaks > Facing up to Acting for real)
- It confirms that Catherine Breillat - despite very much wanting his looks, which she found perfectly suited, for the role - thought he was too young for the role (Ryno was 30), but he persuaded her to cast him (See Links > English > Catherine Breillat)
Thank you, Pierregg !
