Hi There
We have just obtained a 5.88 kg (12 lb 15 oz) male lobster.
I know this is nowhere near the biggest Homarus gammarus, or even
biggest British, but the only report I can find of a larger one in the
last fifty years, is Andy's report of a 6.12 kg one off Eastbourne in
December 1998. Does anyone know of any other big ones? Also anyone
know of any way of ageing them apart from guesswork, our latest one had
some Pomatocercus tubes over 20 mm on it?
