Can someone fill a yank in regarding the UK status quo and the effects
of the Marine Conservation Bill will have on seashore access please?

Subject: [Glaucus] Foraging
Exercised as I am over the Marine conservation bill and of the access to
the coast one I am concerned again about the rights to forage. In a
discussion with someone on our seaside foraging it was pointed out how
simple it
would be and apparently how "logical" to exclude foaraging in the sea or
on
the land as was done for land activities on CROW land thereby cancelling
our
rights to blackberries etc which you could previously gather legally
even
if you were trespassing.
I am sure there are enough mean spirited people to welcome the end of
"free
food" and " something for nothing" to get this through. Conservation
once
again by those who haven't the slightest feel for the countryside or the
coast.
