The BMLSS made representations at the consultation period on behalf of
shrimpers/rockpoolers/foragers on the shore.

We concentrated on coastal access, and also the possible conflicts between
bird-watchers and shrimpers etc and other users of the shore. We also
stressed the need for conservation decisions to be made on scientific
evidence and that we preferred the Sea Fisheries to monitor shore and
shallow water foraging rather the terrestrial environmental organisations.
