With over three inches of rain, September was the wetest for some
years. Some very heavy showers, and because of the falling leaves blown
down by the strong winds, some nasty puddles on the roads. We couldn't
see the tornado off Brighton from here, but the effect was the same.

To think that back in August we were complaing about too much sun,
though in fact the wind was quite strong each day.
