A small group of concerned residents have started a petition
insisting that the Hospital Trust Board of our local hospitals
reinstate the helipad at Worthing Hospital to allow the Sussex Air
Ambulance to land. The air ambulance is due to be launched on June
8th which caries a doctor and paramedic onboard unlike the police
helicopter at the moment.
As neither Brighton or Chichester hospitals have helipads situated
at their hospital sites and have to land on nearby public parks as
Homefield Park is being used at present. We do feel that if we can
put pressure onto the hospital board to stop using the helipad as
car-parking space it would add to the fight to keep A.E. Department
open therefore saving both of our fine hospitals from being
downgraded.
We are looking for willing helpers to help us with manning our
petition stalls that are planned throughout June in the town centres
or to take petition forms to clubs etc or to gain signatures in any
legal way possible.
If you or family feel they could help in any way please contact me
by email of tel 01903 522909.
We are trying to cover as bigger area as possible as our hospital's
catchment area is huge serving over 300.000 people and we feel they
all deserve a say in the future of their hospital services.
