New exclusive reading on Face to Face
Bergman On Stage
The works of Ingmar Bergman are currently playing in theatres all over the world, from Rio de Janeiro in Brazil to Helsinki in Finland. To create an overview of these performances we have established a whole new section on Ingmar Bergman Face to Face. On Stage offers a complete list of productions past and present, alongside performance dates and venues. As the list develops we shall be adding images and reviews, together with cast and credits lists from the various performances.
Earlier this year Ingmar Bergman donated the performing rights of his scripts to the Ingmar Bergman Foundation. Please contact rightsmanagement@... in this matter.
Quotations
The Face to Face film section now features a new heading: in Quotations we list essential, memorable or aphoristic quotations. See for example Crisis (1946), Persona (1966) or Cries and Whispers (1973). Later on Bergman's personal quotations will also be included on the site.
Thomas Elsaesser first Bergman Professor
Thomas Elsaesser, renowned professor of Amsterdam University, has taken up his duties as the first holder of the Ingmar Bergman Professorship. As one of the world's leading experts on European film, he has conducted highly-acclaimed research into art cinema, the area in which Ingmar Bergman occupies a unique position of prominence.
The Ingmar Bergman Professorship is a cooperation between Ingmar Bergman Foundation and the Film Department at Stockholm University, funded by a grant from The Royal Academy of Letters, History and Antiquities.
