Dear All,

Apologies if you've seen this before but if you have any interest in seeing the good facilitites currently at Eastway maintained in the future, now would be a good time to give feedback to the consultation process through this link:

Regards
Terry

Terry, Karen, Sean,

could you pass this around your cycling contacts and ask everyone interested in securing the best replacement site for the world famous Lea Valley Cycle circuit to visit the site and request a consultation form. Visits to the site are published on this site.

I was surprised to see my survey form last week was only #138 and I would have expected 1000s to have been issued. As part of a cycle racing team with opportunities for children being a large focus within the club the next 5-7 years may leave a hole in the whole of cycling remit, road racing, MTB and cyclo-cross if we don't get the right site whilst the Olympic site is being developed. Eastway will close Summer 2006.

Most people favor Hogg Hill for safety and suitability reasons, but it needs some contouring to make it  not so fast a course, MTB/Cyclo-cross looks like excellent opportunities too. Ramney Marsh site is polluted with unclassified land fill waste and needs to be "capped" with a depth of soil covering. The M25 also gives high NO2 levels and if you move 5 meters closer to the road then the NO2 level breaches the government objective target for public health - docs are all there.

But please make a unbiased decision and support the process. Your vote counts.

Yours on two wheels,

Daryl

Hi
Some people asked for comment on the LDA consultation document about Rammey Marsh and Hog Hill. You can find it on their site at www.lda.gov.uk

In case it isn't obvious the site at Rammey Marsh is a scrubby patch of contaminated land next to a motorway widening scheme. It will have a twisty kart circuit on it.

Hog Hill is a similar size to Eastway in open country with good access and much closer to Eastway. It will have a great road circuit and enough space for better mountainbike and cyclo-cross.

If you haven't got time to make a visit to both sites courtesy of EUG arranging a coach with the LDA you will just have to take my word for it that Hog Hill is vastly superior in every regard.

The attached document does a bit more to inform you. You need to take action and tell all your riding friends to do this too. - Unless you want to go to Rammey Marsh, that is!

Regards,
