Dear All,
I am writing to remind everyone about Cycle for Life with Learning for Life
(http://www.learningforlifeuk.org) on 17th September 2009? We will be staying in
Paris, the beautiful village of Lyon La Floret, Bognor Regis, and returning to
London for a food and drink reception. The trip includes food, accommodation,
transport and back up support. Last year, the cyclists had a great fun!
ALL MONEY RAISED (over the cost of trip) goes to help fund projects providing
education and basic health care to poor and oppressed children in South East
Asia (because it is being organised by the charity not a company).
As a charity, LfL is cost-effective. Last year, 96% of money spent went to help
fund projects. The need is great: 20 million people in Bangladesh live on less
than 16p a day and 70% of children in the slums don't have access to education.
In Pakistan, almost one in ten children die before the age of five. For all of
these children, being born in the wrong place at the wrong time means a life of
crippling poverty. Providing education and basic health care – something we take
for granted - is their ticket out.
Cycle for Life with friends or meet new people - you'll have lots of fun AND
make a real difference! Cost = £200 deposit plus £900 to be fundraised. LfL
provide a fundraising pack, T-shirt and Justgiving page. Information:
