Re: [Hospitalplayspecialists] Re: questions about the course
Hey Shelly,
At stanmore you go to college every tuesday 9am-4pm and some block weeks where you have to attend the whole week but their is only two or three of these, this allows you to do part time work as you study ( i worked for a nursery nurse agency, so the work was really flexible, i could work more or less depending on the work load). The course is a year and your placement is unpaid i'm afraid, and you have to go once a week there too this placement needs to add up to 200hrs altogether. I started by doing a placement but then i was lucky enough to get paid work as a hospital play assistant which i've been doing for about 5weeks now.

Thanks to Katy and Hattyhar for replying to my question. Stanmore college is quite close to me so i'll be applying
there, but I dont know when as I'm at uni at the mo, but i don't know if it will all work out. how do the college days and placement days work out? I'm guessing the placement is unpaid? which isnt a major concern factor for me as i will still be living at home - its something my dad will ask me, he always comes up with questions I never think of, lol.
Thanks
Shelley
