Have you thought about joining NAHPS, when you join you get sent a directory of all the NAHPS registered play staff all over the country, this would give you names and contact details of lots of male hps's all over the country.
 
I think isounds like a really good idea for a research project, and i feel male hospital play specialists are very valuable. Good luck
