Hi Katie
Are you a member of NAHPS? As part of the membership includes a directory of hospital play specialists all over the country, including their full names, contact details for their ward/dept, and the specialist areas they cover eg ear, nose & throat, cancer, surgery, burns etc I have a copy of the last one so might be able to help, but would definately be uesful for you to have your own copy for when you are organising your hospital visits for your research project.
If you do try writing to hospitals to find hospital play specialists, do ask if there is a qualified hospital play specialist, as many people call themselves by this title but do not hold the qualification. Your college placement will not be valid if it is with someone who is not qualified.
Good luck and give me a shout if you want me to look up wher qualified HPS's are in my
directory.
Harriet

I had a good response from all the Hospital i send an letter to. Try doing this, it had worked for me.Let me know how you get on and please feel free to ask any concern you might have.Yazz
