Re: [Hospitalplayspecialists] Re: play specialist books

Hi Nichola,

I'm Mazni from Malaysia. I took this course last year at Stevenson Coll Edin. I agree with Karen with Children in Hospital by Richard Lansdown (the bible for this course) and Supporting Sick Children and their families by Penny Cook. Lansdown book is very difficult to get hold even in Amazon but public librarries do have a copy of it. I don't know about other places but I surely know they have one in Edinburgh. Good luck with the course and enjoy!!! My advise do your work constantly so that you will not feel the pressure at the end of the course. And the most important thing is have lot's of Fun!!!

Hi Nichola

Good luck with the course!! Can't believe our year is almost over!  A
couple of books worth getting are:  Children in Hospital by Richard
Lansdown (this is no longer in print but you may be able to get it 2nd
hand off amazon) also Supporting Sick Children and their Families by
Penny Cook.  I have found these books helpful this year.
Karen.
