Hi Harriet,
I'm a Hospital Play Specialist at Singleton Hospital in Swansea South Wales. I qualified 5 years ago.
We don't have a Hps in A&E and when it is suggested that we attend our boss quotes the "and who's going to pay" line. We have had input in providing toys and distraction equipment and advice on decorations but sadly that is all. I know a few Hps' who do work in A&E so I will try and get some information for you.
All the best with your course.
Best Wishes Jan

Subject: [Hospitalplayspecialists] Hospital Play Specialists in A&E

Hi Everyone
I wanted to ask for all your help, i'm doing some research for my
hospital on play specialists in the A&E dept. I would like to know
about hospital play specialists in A&E at your hospital or ones you
have visited for placements. Do they have a hospital play specialist
based in A&E? Are they full time or part time and what times of the day
do they work (evenings,weekends)?
If you don't have a hospital play specialist based in A&E does the ward
hospital play specialist visit A&E when requested?
Any info you have would be really useful, don't worry if you don't have
the answers to all my questions anything helps. It would also be great
if you could tell me the name of the hospital.
Thank you
Harriet
