Hi there,
I work at the Portland Hospital have done for two years. And i would agree that working in the private sector the awareness of the HPS is very little. I have been fighting to improve the play department and highlighting key factors of our role for the past 2years!! And it has been a struggle to say the least. Feel free to get in contact..i'm sure not all private will be as bad!

Yes there is. not many though. I know the Portland in London employs HPS staff not sure about Bupa.  
Dont be disilusioned that working in the private sector will be better money and you will get more/better recognition in fact from what i have heard they have been known to pay less than NHS and also many private hospitals have even less HPS awareness than some of the NHS hospitals.
