Hi Kathryn
Here are a few books I have found that are good, don't know if you have come across all of these.
Trigg, E. & T.A. Mohammed, Practices in Children's Nursing, Guidelines For Hospital & Community, 2nd Ed, 2006, Church Livingstone
Wolfendale, S, Special Needs in Early Year: Snapshots of Practice, 2000, Routledge Falmer
Walker, J. Play for Health, Delivering and Auditing Quality in Hospital Play Services, 2006, The National Association of Hospital Play Staff
Lowson, S. Innovations in Paediatric Ambulatory Care, 1998, MacMillan
Press
Cook, P. Supporting Sick Children and Their Families, 1991,
Brunner
Routledge
All of the NAHPS Play Focus booklets are currently being updated, and they will all be available to buy very soon, so they should be helpful to you too.
Hope this helps.
Harriet

hi guys,
kathryn again,
i've been working on my dissertation again this weekend, and ive found
a hole in my reading.
i was just wondering if anyone knows of any more recent books about
play in hospitals, especially ones with info on currently policies?
i'm trying to do a section on how HPS's have changed from when they
were first introduced. also, i'm moving on to a section about the
policy/practice gap, so if anyone has any info on either of those, i
would be very grateful. i keep coming up stuck with my uni library.
thanks in advance
kathryn
