Thanks for the offer but I think I know the kind of screw you mean. The chrome screw on my Boudet is a screw thread but with a !/2" [approx] serrated wheel set into the plastic bit. If you go to Boudet's web site you will see the tuners on one of his lute-backs. Another problem is that the bottom half of the srew is still in the shaft with nothing to grab onto to get it out. Unfortunatly Boudet does not have an email on his website so I will have to take pot luck.
I will be seeing Raymond Chance on Wednesday as he is putting a laminated wheels on my Pimpard so I will ask him.
Talking of the Pimpard, if you do a search for the Belle Epoque de la Vielle Montlucon exhibition you will see Gilbert Malochet playing a dead-ringer for my Pimpard, exciting stuff if it turns-out that it is the same instrument.
Anyway, hope you are keeping well and thank's again for the offer.

Phil,
if it is just the little screw that goes in from the top, I think I have a spare one you can have. Cheers and have fun in Fance

Everer since i got my first gurdy 20 years ago [a Chris Eaton] people kept warning me that the mechanical tuners can shear-off inside, well it has happened on my Boudet. The chrome wheel at the top of the tuner has broken-off and left the tuner with no strength to hold a D drone to tension.
Has anyone else who has had this problem come up with a temporary solution?
So far I have changed the petit bourdon to the gross bourdon position.
I am off to Ars [Saint Chartier] tomorrow so will hopefully get Monsieur Boudet to replace the tuner with one that matches, that is if he still uses the same ones.

Hi Phil I can most likely make you another screw and one area I specialise in is removing screws from awkward places without damage to other components. Should...
Hi Phil, if Nick can pull the broken bit out I have found the screw you need in one of my many boxes of bits, it's the same as what is on our Boudet so should...
Thank's for that Scott. It did get Boudet to replace the whole tuner [19 euros]; however, I hate waste so I will try and get the broken bit out when I have a...
