Dear David and Heather,
Thank you for taking my remarks in the spirit they were intended. I
am relieved that you understood that none of my remarks were directed
at your sterling work.
Thank you also for your replies, it confirmed that you are aware of
the issues I raised and it clarified points about the difficulties
of dealing with them.
As for your invitation to get involved again in running the Inter-
Faith group I must decline. I say 'yes' too much within my own
community but someone has to do it. From past experience I do not
want to get caught up again in the runaway train that InterFaith
volunteering becomes.
It was perhaps unfair then that I criticized something that I myself
had made no efforts towards doing differently.
Setting up the website and transferring all the addresses last year
was time consuming but I did it happily to take some of the load off
Ralph but it reminded me of how easily one can end up biting off more
than one can chew.
It's a perennial problem with all voluntary organizations I suppose;
apathy from most, leaving the few with zeal to come and then go as
they get overwhelmed.
I remember how uninspiring it was to get no replies at all when I
tried to arrange an Interfaith Parade two years in a row.
I sincerely hope that your enthusiasm doesn't wane as quickly as mine
did and I admire you and heather for your doggedness.
Brightest Blessings
Derek
