MEDITATION RETREAT (Buddhist)
Copy of mailing sent out today (04-04-07)
One Day course with Bhante Bodhidhamma

Saturday 28th April
Please arrive for a 9:30 am start. We end at 5:00 pm latest

At the Friends Meeting House,12 Jesus Lane, Cambridge. CB5 8BA (by kind
permission of the Society of Friends). We have hired all 4 rooms and the
kitchen.

Bhante Bodhidhamma will also give his annual talk here the evening before
(Friday 29th Sept. 7.15pm) at the meeting of the Cambridge Buddhist
Society. All welcome, come along to meet us then if you are unsure
whether
Saturday is OK for you.

Please, please, pass this information on to whoever may be interested,
there
is plenty of room available on the Saturday.

Course Description:- Beginners are welcome as well as more experienced
meditators, the atmosphere is always relaxed and friendly. No booking
required. as more than enough room and we rely on a Dana (gift) bowl for
financial support . The day will mostly be alternate periods of
sitting and
walking meditation, with closing discussion and loving kindness
meditation. Although Bhante is a teacher of the Mahasi Method, the
course
will not be exclusively that and is easily modulated for beginners.
We hope
there will be opportunities for individual meetings with Bhante
Bodhidhamma
if required.

Hot drinks will be supplied, but we ask that you bring vegetarian food to
share for lunch. It's best, if possible, to bring your own
cushion/mat/stool, but chairs and benches are available. All the
rooms used
have wheelchair access including a toilet.

Costs: The teachings are given freely to all regardless of ability to
pay.
Donations in the Dana bowl are welcome and necessary of course but
there is no
obligation. The Meeting House hire and Bhante's travel expenses etc. are
estimated at £250. Buddhist monastics in this tradition depend
entirely on
Donations (dana) and any additional money given will be used for Bhante
Bodhidhamma's daily living expenses.

Hope to see you on 28th. For further information contact me (Dick
Allen) at
<dickalle@...>

Kanduboda, the main Mahasi Centre in Sri Lanka. In the spring of 1998 he
returned to Britain and has since been teaching in England and Ireland.
