A reminder that we have the AGM and a talk by Barry Woodhouse ("A
journey beyond: an exploration of the near death experience"; poster
attached) this Friday evening. We plan to complete the AGM in 30
minutes, to allow plenty of time for the talk. Below is the AGM agenda
and a report on the past year.
We are arranging a Faith Fair for 10 May and a Celebration of Community
for 25 October.

Cambridge Inter-Faith Group
Report for the period 25 January 2008 to 27 February 2009
The Committee met in March, May, July and September 2008 and in January
2009. Heather Kara, David Wilman and Nahid Salmanpour attended all five
meetings, Prudence Jones attended four, and Ricky Selwyn came to the two
most recent ones. Paul Wiseman and Dominic Mulvey were invited to take
part, but did not do so. David and Heather shared most of the
administrative work. David dealt with money and with incoming
correspondence. Prudence wrote up a meeting in December at which three
of the Committee met Tom Wlodlarski, whose work for Cambridgeshire County
Council includes faith issues. Ralph Nimmann has looked after the
website.
The Committee organized a Faith Fair on Sunday 29 June at the Friends’
Meeting House, Jesus Lane, at which nine faith groups and the East of
England Faiths Agency had stalls.
Ralph and his wife held an inter-faith garden party at their home in
Walpole Road on Saturday 13 September.
There was a Celebration of Community, arranged jointly with the City
Council, on Sunday 19 October in the Small Hall of the Guildhall, at which
the Mayor and individuals from eleven faiths presented thoughts on the
theme of ‘Vision.’
A Friday evening meeting was held on 28 November in the Unitarian Hall, at
which Sheridan James spoke about a day in the life of a Muslim woman.
Twelve people attended.
At the time of the 2008 AGM the Group had £173.61 in accounts with
Alliance & Leicester and £55.25 in cash. Income since then has been
£66.36. Expenditure has been £150.05, made up of £29.00 for use of the
Friends’ Meeting House, £18.55 for refreshments at the Faith Fair, £67.50
for advertising and a £35.00 membership fee to the Inter Faith Network
for the UK. As a result the Group now has £120.47 with Alliance &
Leicester and £24.70 in cash.
