Cambridge University Faiths Forum invites you to the Sacred Exhibition
at the British Library in the heart of London. Join people from other
faiths to explore over 200 of the rarest and oldest texts, manuscripts
and objects from their faith. This trip is subsidised by CUFF and
includes exclusive talks on articles within the exhibitions and will
also be an oppertunity to hear about 'Scriptural Reasoning' a
programme we hope to take on under CUFF wherein we will explore the
sacred texts of different religions to try to understand the richness
and depth of each of the faiths.
The British Library's acclaimed new exhibition "Sacred" will run until
September 23rd and brings together, for the first time, some of the
oldest and most beautiful texts of Judaism, Christianity and Islam,
set out side by side. In their wonderful calligraphy, illumination and
textual development, you can see the extraordinary ways in which they
have celebrated the wonder of the sacred word. The exhibit emphasises
the critical value of re-examining the books of Jews, Christians and
Muslims, as well as some of their traditions and customs, for a fuller
understanding of all three peoples.
