Dear Interfaith group members

I will be leaving my post as Akashi Project coordinator for a new job in London this month. I will still be working as am Akashi project volunteer but as part of an exciting team forming the new Akashi project Steering Committee.

I'm writing to introduce you all to the new Akashi project steering committee members. Many of you been a GREAT source of support and enthusiasm for the Akashi project's work - I hope this will continue with the new steering group!

Rosemary Randall (Ro), my colleague at Cambridge Carbon Footprint, will be the main contact for the group (rorandall@..., 01223 460475). Other members of the group are Anna McIvor, Naima Kislam, Bev Sedley, Lexzecia Cayneeo, Emily Bingley, Latha Eapen, Nicky Smith and Mary Robin. They are volunteers with a variety of backgrounds and expertise - we are very lucky! If any of you would like to contribute your experience, your involvement would be welcome - please let Ro know.

The group already have begun to make plans for coming months. We have a great poster exhibition of local people's stories on climate change to bring along to community events. It is called the Climate Change, One World, Many Voices exhibition. Some feedback on it so far includes the following comments:

- 'Wow these posters look amazing! They are so bright and colourful, you really want to read them'
- 'It's great to see so many familiar faces on these posters. They show that people from all walks of life care about climate change and are trying to reduce their carbon footprints'
- 'What a great learning tool! But they're so well presented, you don't even realise you're learning about climate change as you read them!' Would your group like to invite

Would your community group like to view the exhibition? It can be loaned to you to display in your community centre or at a meeting, or a pair of our volunteers can accompany it and run an interactive discussion session about climate change with your group members. Please contact Ro if you would like to discuss this further.

Finally, huge thanks from me for your support of the Akashi project so far. We wouldn't have achieved so much without the team spirit amongst people like you who work with such a community spirit in Cambridge. Long may it continue!!

All the best

Shilpa

PS: if you would like to be emailed a 'Beyond Akashi' guide for Akashi participants, outlining other events and services Cambridge Carbon Footprint is offering in coming months and also loads of information about other local environmental organisations and services which may help people save money / energy, please let me know.
